Bernard has been an avid collector of the stamps of Great Britain since the age of eleven. He has since stopped collecting G.B. as he feels that we issue far too many stamps each year - mainly as a money-making exercise. The year 2000 seemed an ideal time to stop.

He does, however, collect thematically and concentrates on those stamps with heraldry (q.v.) or heraldic items on them.
